Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

Archbishop Farrell and Building Hope Task Force
Archbishop Farrell has a special video for everyone on the Dublin Diocesan website – www.dublindiocese.ie and we ask you to link on this as soon as possible. It is available until 18th July. The Task Force wrote to say that they want to engage with the whole diocesan family and invite the families in our parish to be part of the Task Force’s work of Building Hope. So they are asking all of us to pray, discuss the consultation with our families and to complete the online form, if a submission has not been made already.
May the Holy Spirit working in and through us, do much more than we can dare to imagine as we live out our baptismal calling in humble and loving service.

Dear parishioners
As we said last weekend, the income of parishes in the Diocese has been severely affected with collections down by over 80% due to lockdown. To help alleviate this, Archbishop Farrell launched a new Summer Dues Collection. Envelopes for this collection are available for delivery on the back table of our Church. I am very conscious of the many demands made on you during these historical times. All the clergy are grateful to you for your continued support and generosity.

Excerpt from Archbishop’s Letter re the Sacraments
“It is advised that religious ceremonies such as Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation should not take place at this time. Further advice will follow on re the resumption of these ceremonies when it is safe to do so”.
Where there are strong pastoral reasons to celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism, the family requesting it should be asked to confirm in writing the need to observe current public health guidelines.
Reflection on Today’s Gospel
‘Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy’
Today’s readings show us discipleship and humble faith. Ezekiel and Paul draw strength and endurance from their relationship with God, as does Jesus himself from the Father.
As well as facing opposition and challenges from community members, Paul is also experiencing unwelcome personal suffering. However, through his ‘thorn in the flesh’, the Lord has helped him grow in understanding. He is not to depend on himself, but rather on Christ’s power. Divine grace works best through vulnerability and humility. (Second Reading)
Jesus, too, has to cope with opposition and rejection. The people of Nazareth struggle to believe in him because they earlier knew him as one of their local community and so think that he could not be anyone special. This amazes and hurts Jesus. (Gospel)
This week, we pray for divine comfort and solace, as we face life’s desolations and trials. We also pray for our sisters and brothers across the world who are living through times of great loss and fear.
Annual Charity Tax Refund Scheme
We are sending out forms for updating to 47 parishioners for the annual charity tax refund scheme and would appreciate it if they are completed by signing and including PPS number and returned to the parish office. These forms will suffice for five years but if you prefer a yearly one, please contact Janice. If you do not wish to be involved, please let the parish office know.
Peter’s Pence
The annual Peter’s Pence collection takes place this weekend, 3rd/4th July. The Peter’s Pence Collection provides Pope Francis with the funds he needs to carry out his charitable works around the world. It will replace the usual Share collection.

Pathways – Exploring Faith and Ministry Programme
Applications are invited for the above Adult Faith Development course. This is a two-year, one night a week (Thursdays) starting on 30th September in DCU, St Patrick’s Campus, Drumcondra. We Are a Deeply-Loved Child of God
Words of love and affirmation are essential to our growth and vitality. Those of us who grew up without loving or affirming voices in our life understand how painful their absence can be. The human heart can often be wounded by a single word or a hostile glance devoid of love. Thankfully, there is a Divine voice of truth present in our lives. If we simply quiet our minds, we can hear the Heavenly Father’s resounding voice of blessing, there to remind us that we are indeed beloved. No matter who you are, what you have done, what you have been through, you are a deeply-loved and valued child of God.
This weekend, take some quiet time to meditate on God’s divine love for you. Allow that love to take possession of your heart. Sit in the presence of the one who calls you His beloved. God’s heart and love for you is surer than anything you can imagine. As you receive this all-consuming love from your Heavenly Father, you will feel compelled to share it with others.
Make it a daily habit to speak words of blessing over your children or friends. Tell the people around you you love them and are proud of them. They need it! Reflect the unconditional love of Christ through your words.
In the coming days, it is our prayer that you share the reality of God’s love for you like you never have before.

The Kindest Souls
Some of the kindest souls I know have lived in a world that was not so kind to them. Some of the best human beings I know have been through so much at the hands of others, and they still love deeply, they still care. Sometimes, it’s the people who have been hurt the most who refuse to be hardened in this world, because they would never want to make another person feel the same way they have felt. If that isn’t something to be in awe of, I don’t know what is.
