Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
Shrines and Collections in our Church
May we ask that people, contributing to our Sunday collections and to the Shrines, check that coins used are euro. This can easily happen if people return from foreign holidays. If any other coins are used, the coin counting machine cannot deal with them and breaks down. Thank you for your ongoing generosity.
Annual Charity Tax Refund Scheme
We ask those who have received the forms about the Annual Tax Return to return them as soon as possible, signed and including PPS to the Parish Office. If you do not wish to be involved, please let the parish office know.
Northside Home Care Services
Meals on Wheels is a seven-day service that delivers meals Monday to Friday, to clients in their homes. Would you like us to deliver a meal to a family member or neighbour who could benefit from a nutritious meal and a dessert for €5 per day?

Praying for Vocations
Archbishop Farrell is asking everyone to pray on a regular basis for vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life. As you are well aware, the need is great, so let’s answer God’s call and “Pray the Lord of the harvest to send labourers into his harvest”.
Reflection on Today’s Liturgy
‘You must do what the word tells you’
Our readings this week encourage us to pay attention to the ways the word of God influences how we live our lives. Although we often fail to live up to the example set for us, we are assured of an abundance of gifts, because of God’s infinite love for each and everyone.
In the Second Reading Jewish Christians are asked not just to listen to the word, but to do what the word tells them, by caring for those in need, and living good and honest lives.
In the Gospel, Jesus describes the lip-service of the Pharisees, who, as foretold in the words of Isaiah, offer ‘worthless worship’. Their adherence to human traditions and values takes their hearts far from God.
This week, we may want to spend some time reflecting, with the Lord’s help, on how closely our own lives mirror the above. We can then ask that the Lord will show us the path that will draw us ever closer to His presence.
Pope Francis at the General Audience This Week
Let us ask the Lord to help us be consistent and to courageously combat anything that can lead us away from the truth and from the faith we profess. Only thus can we truly build unity and fraternity.
Confirmation and First Holy Communion
Confirmations will be celebrated in our Parish in September – pupils from Northbay on 4th; from Scoil Eoin on 11th and from Gaelscoil Míde on 18th. We will plan for First Holy Communion shortly.
New Pilgrim Path Website of the Week
Spiritual Exercises for Mental HealthThe Jesuits in Britain, creators of the wonderful Pray as you Go website, have devised seven mental health audio exercises designed to encourage, in God’s presence, prayerful awareness of any feelings of unease or distress. These short exercises last no more than eight minutes. They address addiction, ageing, anxiety, depression, grief, insomnia and loneliness. It is hoped that they will be helpful for anyone using these sessions who might be struggling at the moment. To access these, and other rich online spiritual resources |

The Summer Day
Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
this grasshopper, I mean—
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down—
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don’t know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life? Mary Oliver
Be The Example
“There is something uniquely beautiful about a person who grows from his/her struggles and uses the lessons from their experiences to spread wisdom. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or how far you fell. Be the example that shows others that they can overcome that mountain, too.” Morgan Richard Olivier

A Visit In Your Dreams
Every so often, your loved ones will open the door from Heaven, and visit you in a dream. Just to say “Hello” and to remind you they are still with you, just in a different way. Matt Fraser.

For those who are fleeing: sanctuary.
For those who are staying: safety.
For those who are fighting: peace.
For those whose hearts are breaking: comfort.
For those who see no future: hope.
A Thought For The Week
