Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

Excerpt from the Mission Statement
The great social, cultural and religious change of our time brings challenges and opportunities for all people—both for people of faith and for people who do not see themselves in this way. In response, the Archdiocese of Dublin is initiating a process of review and renewal, and is providing a Statement of Mission as a starting point for reflection and conversation.
Mission – The living Christ calls and empowers the Dublin Archdiocese to act with resolve and become more fully a place of welcome and compassion, which embodies the power, hope and joy of the gospel.
Vision – Across the Archdiocese we build up together:
- Communities that are faith-filled
- Communities of co-responsibility through servant leadership
- Communities that are active in social justice and
- Communities of welcome and inclusion
We are called to develop new ways to accompany the people of our time. This will require new thinking and a shift of mind-set in everyone. We must create new possibilities for mission:
- Supporting people to deepen their faith and relationship with God
- Creating the structures that support vibrant communities of faith, and
- Advocating for those who are on the margins
Aware of the need for responsible stewardship, and of the diminishing resources available of time, talent and treasure, we are invited into an ongoing process of prayerful dialogue, discernment and decision making, concerning our missionary priorities.

Reflection on Today’s Gospel
‘My soul, give thanks to the Lord!’
Today’s readings invite and challenge us to live generous, kind-hearted lives of compassion, mercy and love.
Today’s Gospel is challenging , where we hear Jesus urging us to show forgiveness even to our enemies, and to be ‘compassionate as your Father is compassionate’. The Psalm is a song of praise and gratitude for the Lord’s own compassion and love. We are very aware that we cannot live out the teachings of Jesus without help! We pray for the grace to be open to the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and also to the life of the risen Lord working in, with and through us. We pray, too, that our sisters and brothers everywhere may be open to God’s compassion and love.
Reflect, today, upon any wounds you carry within. Know that these wounds can become the source of your own holiness and happiness if you let God transform them and if you allow God to fill your heart with love for everyone who has mistreated you.
Lord, I know that I am called to love my enemies. I know that I am called to love all those who have mistreated me. Help me to surrender to You any feelings of anger or hate and replace those feelings with true charity. Jesus, I trust in You.

Pope Francis
“Disciples are those who let themselves be led by Jesus, who open their heart to Jesus, who listen to him and follow his path. A disciple of Jesus must become “inwardly unhinged” by the paradox presented in the Beatitudes, and set aside their preconceived notions regarding the source of happiness. Joy comes from following Jesus. “
A Prayer to Prevent War
Dearest Abba, Please forgive the world for all the wrongdoing. By your mercy we are forgiven. I ask you, with all the love of my weak heart, to transform men’s unforgiving hearts to merciful hearts so that wars may be prevented. Enlighten the minds of the leaders to lead by peace and love, not by vengeance and selfishness. Amen

The Value of a Smile
Suppose that one day you smile at someone who feels very sad and discouraged and that your smile also makes her/his smile; How much is that gesture worth? You’ll probably never know, but for that person it could mean everything; a decisive change of direction in the dark and lonely path of his/her life. In our days there are many people like that, who have given up all hope that someone would smile at them again. Thomas Merton
Test Yourself
It is easy enough to tell the poor to accept their poverty as God’s will when you yourself have warm clothes and plenty of food and medical care and a roof over your head and no worry about the rent. But if you want them to believe you—try to share some of their poverty and see if you can accept it as God’s will yourself! Thomas Merton
Life is a Gift
“Life changes so quickly. We can be happy one day, empty and broken the next. If we learn anything from this pandemic, I hope it is to value the moments, treasure the memories and hold onto what counts. Make time each day to realise how fleeting life is and to thank God for each blessing. Maybe this pandemic will teach us to slow down, appreciate what we have and how quickly it can be gone. My prayer is that it will. Life is a gift.” Shelby Condo
Spring
Spring awakens and enlivens us in a way no other season can. We remember what new life looks like, we remember what possibilities are just around the corner, and we remember that beauty comes in small packages.
It’s a great time for meditation as we grow ourselves – and with spring in mind, here are five reflections on how our minds, hearts, and spirits are healed during the flowery months.
- New life and new beginnings are all around us.Each waking flower is a symbol for something new taking shape within us.
Everything blooms in its own time. In our lives, just as in nature, patience forms the most beautiful things we experience.
Colour and light are vital to life. Spring feels good because it reminds us how deeply we need variety and vividness in our surroundings.
Great things are waiting beneath the surface. Only when the flowers bloom do we realize the potential that existed beneath our feet all this time.
The important things are the simple things. Grass, rain, sunlight, a single flower – the smallest things matter still, because no one else can experience them for us.
Thought For The Week
Snow is God’s reminder of what grace was designed to look like. It doesn’t pick and choose where it falls; it covers everything.
