Eucharistic Adoration – This Week
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will not take place this week on 10th, 11th, and 12th due to new heating system being installed in the Church.
Dear Parishioners
Our New Heating System will be installed on the 10th, 11th, and 12th May. Therefore, there will be no 10am Masses on Wednesday 10th and Friday 12th May.
We have been raising funds for this project through our quarterly Four Seasons Collection and we thank you for your donations. However, we still have a shortfall and would welcome donations. Envelopes are available on the back table and can be returned to the Parish Office. Thank you for your continued support and generosity. Fr. Peter
Reflection on Sunday’s Readings
This week, we continue to follow the infant church, and with them ponder the words Jesus gave us at the Last Supper. The First Reading shows how the disciples faced the growing tension between the Greek and Hebrew traditions. After discernment and prayer, they delegate tasks. The Psalm is one of praise for God’s word and his work. It is also a prayer of trust. For St Peter, it is clear that Christ is the foundation, the living cornerstone for all believers. We are to set ourselves close to him. (Second Reading) The Gospel is from Jesus’s discourse to his friends before he suffered and died. They are words of encouragement. In the light of the Resurrection, the disciples must have drawn strength from them. Jesus is with them: the Way, the Truth and the Life. As we face this week, let us, too, keep our eyes on Jesus, even when we are concerned by all that is happening around us. May we strive to follow the Lord as the Way, in joy and hope.
Golden Opportunity for Readers of the Word
Ministers of the Word – readers – play a very important and essential role during each Mass. Our attendance at Mass is very much enhanced when the readings are proclaimed in a meaningful way. To help all readers do this, Rosemary Lavelle, Pastoral Co-ordinator in the Dublin Diocese and a leading lecturer in liturgy, will facilitate a training night to enhance even more the proclamation of God’s word. Rosemary will attend on Wednesday 24th May, 7.30-9.30pm in our Church.
In addition, this night will be an encouragement for new readers to become part of this essential group – you will be most welcome.

Joy does not arrive with a fanfare,
on a red carpet strewn with the flowers of a perfect life.
Joy sneaks in, as you pour a cup of coffee,
watching the sun hit your favourite tree, just right.
And you usher joy away,
because you are not ready for it.
Your house is not as it must be,
for such a distinguished guest.
But joy cares nothing for your messy home,
or your bank-balance,
or your waistline, you see.
Joy is supposed to slither through the cracks of your imperfect life,
that’s how joy works.
You cannot invite her; you can only be ready when she appears.
And hug her with meaning,
because in this very moment,
joy chose you.
