Dear Heavenly Father, we bring this situation before you and ask for a swift end to violence. Our hearts are breaking for the children and families in Gaza and Israel who have and continue to experience the unspeakable horror of attacks and war all around them. We pray for peace and ask that you will guide the hearts and minds of those in leadership. We especially pray for those children who have been physically and emotionally injured, and for those who have lost loved ones, that you will provide the right people with the right resources to help them, and that you will protect each person. Lord, we ask for your wisdom for all those involved and for the wider international community. Amen

Reflection on Sunday’s Readings‘
‘Well done, good and faithful servant!’
We are reminded of the need to be always prepared for the coming of Christ by the way we live our lives.
In the First Reading, the writer extols the virtues of the perfect wife. Although the language reflects biblical times, the passage speaks powerfully of the value and dignity of manual work, the importance of charity, and respect for all, whatever their role in life.
St Paul reminds us if we live our lives in the light of Christ, we need not fear the coming of God’s reign.
In the Gospel, Jesus uses the parable of the talents to show the importance of making best use of what we have been given for the benefit of others.
We pray for those who struggle to realise their own talents, and those who lack the opportunity to be recognised, valued and celebrated. We also continue to pray for peace across the world.
Outdoor Collections
The outdoor collection for the St Vincent de Paul Society will not take place this weekend as the Annual Collection will be 9th/10th December. The collection for the Little Sisters of the Poor, Sybil Hill, will take place on weekend 25th/26th November.
Charity Tax Forms – Last Call
Thank you to everyone who returned their Charity Tax Forms to the Parish Office. Janice will be sending in the claims for 2021 on or before the end of November. If you still wish to submit your form, please send/drop it into the Parish Office. If mislaid, a new one is available in the office. The refund we receive plays a vital role in the upkeep of our Church and we thank everyone who has and will participate in this scheme.
New Pilgrim Path – Care of the Earth
Pope Francis’ recent letter, Laudate Deum, makes it clear that each of us has a personal responsibility to our planet and our own role to play in arresting Earth’s seemingly headlong plunge into disaster. It is through a combination of our individual efforts, and those of others, that real change can occur. Suggestions for small changes in behaviour and actions for a big difference. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place from 11am-3pm, Tuesday to Friday.
Sometimes though we can be over-cautious. We put up a wall, we do not go outside our comfort zone and often can cut ourselves off from opportunities that life can bring. Again, it brings us to the beautiful word that is balance. If we can get the balance right between living life to the full but also working out what’s good and best for us, then we have found a good healthy balance. (James McSweeney)
