Prayer for Ukraine
Holy and Gracious God. We pray for the people of Ukraine and the people of Russia, for their countries and their leaders. We pray for all those who are afraid; that your everlasting arms hold them in this time of great fear. We pray for all those who have the power over life and death; that they will choose for all people life, and life in all its fullness. We pray for those who choose war; that they will remember that you direct your people to turn our swords into ploughshares and seek for peace. We pray for leaders on the world stage; that they may be inspired by the wisdom and courage of Christ. Above all, Lord, today we pray for peace for Ukraine. And we ask this in the name of your blessed Son. Lord have mercy. Amen.

Eucharistic Adoration
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place from 11am-3pm from Tuesday to Friday each week.
Dues Collection
The Archbishop has written to us thanking each parish for their support towards the clergy through the Summer Dues Collection introduced last year, enabling a 5% increase in the monthly stipend to priests last August. With the return of more parishioners to Church over the past few months the regular First Collection has enabled a further 5% increase. There is, however, still a 30% drop in the First Collection in the first four months of 2022 compared with the same period in 2019. He proposes that we relaunch the Summer Dues Collection from 17th June. Summer Dues envelope will be in the Church. They are not being delivered to your home. They can be returned over the summer months.
The Archbishop reminds us of the value of coming together as a community to celebrate the Lord’s Day. The webcam etc were most helpful during the pandemic but it is time to restore Sunday Mass as a source and summit of our Christian commitment both through communion with the Lord and each other.

Call in, Browse and Choose a Book
The Parish Centre will be open before and after weekend Masses and Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, to allow people to call in, pick a book and make a small donation.
Pope Francis and the Holy Trinity
Pope Francis underlines God’s love for the world. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” The Pope explained, “these words are to indicate that the action of the three divine Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – is a single plan of love that saves humanity and the world. The Trinity is therefore Love, all in the service of the world, which He wishes to save and recreate,” he said. This feast day “invites us to let ourselves once again be fascinated by the beauty of God and to welcome His love which He gives to us through Jesus Christ.”
Prayer for Students doing Exams
Lord, pour out your Spirit of Wisdom on these students: help them to remain calm, to attend carefully to the questions asked, to think clearly, to remember accurately, and to express themselves well. Grant that they may reflect on the best of the work they have done and the best of the teaching they have received. Accept their best efforts in these examinations and in the great test of life on earth. May your love be upon them, O Lord, as they place all their trust in you. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Pathways – Applications Open
Application is open for participants for Pathways, which begins on Thursday 29th September, in DCU St Patrick’s Campus. Places are limited so early application is advisable. Pathways is a two-year, one evening a week course, for adults of all ages who wish to explore their faith. It runs from September to May with a cost of €400 per year which may be paid in instalments. There are no exams and no written work. Parishioners, starting their second year in September, highly recommend it. I Am With You Still
I give you this one thought to keep.

Seeking Happiness
There were 200 people attending a seminar on mental and physical health. The speaker gave each attendee one balloon and told them to write their name on it. The balloons were collected and moved into a small room.
The participants were given two minutes to find their balloon.
It was chaos… People were searching frantically, pushing each other, and running into one another. At the end of the two minutes, no one had found the balloon that had their name on it. Then, the speaker asked the participants to go back and pick up one balloon at random, look at the name, and return it to its owner. Within minutes, everyone had been reunited with their original balloon.
The speaker then told the group, “This is what it’s like when people are frantically searching for their own happiness in life. People push others aside to get the things that they want that they believe will bring them happiness. However, our happiness actually lies in helping other people and working together as a community.”
The Moral:
You will get your happiness if you help other people find theirs. The Dalai Lama says, “If you want to be happy, practice compassion.” Helping others makes us happy because it gives us a sense of purpose.
In fact, a study from the London School of Economics found that the more you help other people, the happier you will be.
