Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.

Weekly Reflection on the Scriptures

It seems that society and parish life is returning to a new normal. So much has changed in the past 2 years. Many of us have been severely affected.
To quote a Chinese proverb – we are living in interesting times! It is both a very challenging and exciting time for our church. At the moment the Synod preparations are well under way. Our Parish Animator addressed our PPC this week. Just to update you, it is planned to hold two meetings for all parishioners at the end of March. It will be open to all, including non-church goers. You will be given information at Mass by a parish representative in the near future.
The Task Force is also making progress. I am including part of the Archbishop’s letter in this week’s newsletter – the complete version will be on the Parish website. It includes a link to all Task Force updates.
Let us use this time as one of renewal as well as change.

Excerpt from the Archbishop’s Letter
A year after my installation as Archbishop, I am presenting a Statement of Mission for the Dublin Archdiocese, which highlights our core mission in a time of rapid change, setting out a vision for the Diocese and providing values to inform our planning for the future. This is the beginning of our more formal response to the Building Hope Task force Report which is available on the diocesan website. Having gathered 3,000 consultation responses from people, priests and parishes, the Task Force in its Report sets out a pastoral strategy for the Archdiocese. I would ask you all to read it carefully and reflectively. It is an essential starting point in the process of renewal we must undertake together.
As the year progresses, parishes will be invited to participate in a process of discernment about parish life into the future. Further details will be provided in late March, for active consideration between Easter and Pentecost. This process will follow on from and build on the Sydodal conversations taking place in Lent, preparations for which are already well underway in the Archdiocese.
Led by the Holy Spirit, we can respond imaginatively, practically, and with Christian hope to the needs of our time and bring life and energy to the renewal we are call to in Christ.
Kilbarrack/Foxfield Ladies Club

The Active Retirement group met on Wednesday and will meet again on Wednesday 23rd at 2.30pm.
Reflection on Today’s Gospel
Looking for happiness has always been at the core of people’s preoccupations. In the First Reading, Jeremiah talks of making a clear choice: trust only in people, or only in God. The beatitudes are at the core of the Gospel, this year and also include warnings for those who have made the wrong choices: ‘Alas for you …’. So, this week our prayer may focus on the choices we have made, make, and will make, as we seek happiness – not just for ourselves, but also for those around and the world at large. We can also ask the Lord for greater trust in him.
Our Parish Centre is Open
Following the great response last week, we will continue to meet for a cuppa, chat and books in the Centre, 10.30am – 12.30pm. Every effort will be made to ensure social distancing, reduced movement, masks wearing when moving around. So come and bring a friend any morning that suits you and be assured of a ‘céad mile fáilte’!
Foundational Leadership Course for Young Adults
