Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.

Trócaire Lenten Campaign 2022

Reflection on Today’s Gospel
God of Compassion and Love
This week, we read of God’s self-revelation and of his relationship with his people, one of great love, and an awareness of our fragility. We hear of God’s warnings, his continuous forgiveness and patience, and offer to start again. St Paul reminds us that, although we are baptized, we can fall, as the chosen people did. Jesus, in the Gospel, calls us to repentance, but reminds us, in the parable of the fig tree, that God is slow to anger and rich in mercy. We can therefore pray with praise and thanksgiving to the God of compassion and love. Perhaps this week, we can allow our readings to remind us not to be complacent, but to listen to God’s word and never forget his blessings.
Prayer for the Ukraine
Holy and Gracious God. We pray for the people of the Ukraine and the people of Russia; for their countries and their leaders. We pray for all those who are afraid; that your everlasting arms hold them in this time of great fear.
We pray for all those who have the power over life and death; that they will choose for all people life, and life in all its fullness. We pray for those who choose war; that they will remember that you direct your people to turn our swords into ploughshares and seek for peace. We pray for leaders on the world stage; that they are inspired by the wisdom and courage of Christ. Above all, Lord, today we pray for peace for Ukraine. And we ask this in the name of your blessed Son. Lord have mercy. Amen
Synodal Gatherings In Our Church
You are warmly invited to two Synodal gatherings in our Parish Centre at 7.30pm next Wednesday 23rd March and again 30th March. Synodal means journeying together and this will be an opportunity to share and listen to each other’s experience of Church. Please remember we are being asked to listen with understanding, to respect each other’s experiences and to try to walk in the other person’s shoes.
Special Collection for Ukraine:
The Irish Bishops have asked for a Special Collection to be taken up at Masses on the weekend of 26th/27thMarch to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine and especially the families and children who have had to flee their homeland in advance of the Russian invasion. The proceeds of this Special Collection will be directed to Caritas Internationalis, which is the helping hand of the Church on the ground in the Ukraine and the surrounding region. Please be as generous as you can. Thank you.
Rotary Shelterbox Collection for Ukraine
Raheny Rotary is holding a Shelterbox collection on weekend of 2nd/3rd April at the Church after each Mass. Funds raised will provide lifesaving aid for families affected by the Ukraine crisis. Currently Shelterbox is opening a location in Poland to address the anticipated need over many months. See www. shelterbox.org.
