Four Seasons Collection
The next collection will take place on the weekend of 11th/12th May. The first project on our list to complete in 2024 is to resurface the parish car park. So far, we have raised €15,498.31. We thank all who have continued to support our Parish Projects Fund. The amount quoted for the Car Park Resurface estimates at around €27,000. We have a shortfall of just over €11,500. All donations will be greatly appreciated.
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is held Tuesday to Friday, 11am-3pm, each week.
Reflection on Sunday Readings
I am the vine; you are the branches. ‘We are deeply rooted in the love of Christ. The risen Christ is the source of all that we need, to grow ever closer to God.
In the First Reading, we hear how shortly after his conversion, St Paul was initially treated with fear and disdain by those he had been persecuting. Paul’s zeal for the Lord was grounded in a very personal encounter with Christ. Knowing that he was loved completely despite all that he had done before, gave him the encouragement to spread the Good News.
Today’s Psalm, an encouraging song of praise, foretells how generations yet to come will be filled with the love of the Lord.
In the Second Reading, we read that even if we feel we have failed or fallen short in our response to God’s love for us, his love is so immense and all-forgiving that we need not be afraid. Knowing this, we can be free to live out the great commandment to love one another.
The beautiful image of a vine carefully tended by the Father is used by Jesus to describe his and our relationship to God (Gospel). Jesus invites us to remain close to him. Without him, our life is nothing; with him, we discover our true identity and purpose.
This week, let us try to be aware that we are branches of one vine, rooted in God’s love. Although we may have our differences and shortcomings, we are forever loved completely by a God of compassion, love, and forgiveness. Let us pray that like St Paul, we will have the grace to live out this amazing Good News.
Building Hope Novena
You are warmly invited to join once again with every parish in the diocese in a Novena to the Holy Spirit – our dedicated period of prayer, reflection and planning for the renewal of the Church in the Archdiocese of Dublin. The Novena will take place in the nine days from 12th – 20th May beginning on the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord, through Pentecost and continuing to the Feast of Mary, Mother of the Church. As well as being a time of prayer, this Novena time can be used to plan, in parish and partnership of parishes, for the pastoral year ahead guided by the Spirit. Some Building Hope Novena Prayer Cards are available on the back table of our Church for you to take.

Don’t Believe What Others See in You
His car broke down at night, so he knocked on the door of an old woman in her seventies and asked her permission to make a phone call.
After he finished his call, he saw many paintings hanging on the wall and expressed his admiration and fascination with them. . .
He asked her if she had tried to display her paintings in art exhibitions?!
She said: No. My late husband told me that I am only fit for the house and for raising children.
When I was young, I believed my husband. I did not violate him so as not to fail, as he said.
But I still love drawing and carry out his instructions to draw only for myself.
And the man said to her, Would you allow me to take some of your paintings and show them to a group of specialists, critics, and gallery owners,
It didn’t matter to her, and she agreed.
The encounter was to change her life.
The paintings achieved amazing sales of hundreds of thousands of dollars, and suddenly the old woman, at the age of seventy, became one of the most famous artists and lived as a distinguished artist,
She lived to witness her resounding artistic and literary success, one of her paintings was sold for $1.2 million in 2006.
Today, her paintings are displayed as collections in the Louvre Museum in Paris and the Plaza in New York.
The artist was AnnaMarie Robertson Moses, who came to be known universally as “Grandma Moses”.
The government of the United States of America honoured her by making a postage stamp bearing her name in 1969 AD.
Don’t believe what others see in you. Believe in yourself first and follow your feelings, and never give up on your dreams to please people.
Success can come in ways you don’t think of.
