A Big Thank You
The priests of the parish and the organising committee for our Church projects work, would like to thank everyone who contributed to our recent Four Seasons Collection. Over €1600 was generously donated last weekend along with a further €6745 prior to the collection taking place. The heating system and outside guttering and paintwork is now completed and paid for, and we will look at completing further projects which need to be addressed including our car park. The next collection will be in the Autumn. Once again thank you for your continued generosity.

Service of the Healing of the Generations

Solemnity of Pentecost
Today we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit and the ways that the Spirit inspires, guides, and strengthens us to live as Christian disciples. Especially in the later weeks of Easter Time, we have anticipated the advent of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the disciples and in the Church. Now we hear the account of the first Pentecost, when, through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, the Good News of Christ was shared with people from throughout the world. Those who heard the disciples speaking were amazed and astonished at the power of God.
On this Pentecost Sunday, let us ask for a spirit of renewal for the whole Christian community. We pray that we may overcome any fear, doubt or differences, and be united in giving expression to the joy of Resurrection, each of us doing so in our own unique way, whilst rooted in the same spirit of transforming love.

‘Bumper Book and Bun Fest!’
Our Church needs urgent help to fund vital maintenance work – some completed and some on-going. The completed work could not have happened without your generous donations. In an effort to ‘do our bit’ to help, we will have a “Bumper Book and Bun Fest” – this weekend 4pm- 7.30pm Saturday 27th; 10am-3pm Sunday 28th May in the Parish Centre. All are invited to come along to browse the books, donate and enjoy a delicious cream tea.

Pope Francis

Pentecost: ‘Fan into flame the gift you already have!’
“It is a shame that the Holy Spirit tends to be an afterthought”. Richard Rohr is an American Franciscan friar, renowned author, and founder of the ecumenical Centre for Action and Contemplation. He believes that, of the two baptisms mentioned by Christ – baptism with water, and baptism with fire and the Holy Spirit – many of us have not truly experienced the latter. The gift of the Spirit is within us, but we need to fan into flame this gift we already have. If we are to draw on that dynamic presence, we must believe in it and want it. ‘In Your Garden’ ……………………….Today is my Gift to You
In your garden you forget about that unkind thing that someone said. When you are busy pulling weeds out of the border bed, you forget the petty things that set your nerves on edge. When you’re turning up the soil or clipping the hedge, you forget the unfair way that someone treated you.
When you get out in the garden for an hour or two, it is strange how quickly you forget your wants and woes. When you’re planting seedlings out or tying up a rose, you forget the cares that make you feel like you’re growing old.
When you see the new green shoots come pushing through, troubles that looked big indoors will suddenly seem small. When you’re working in the garden, you tend to forget them all.

Doing The Right Thing
I heard this story once about a teacher who took a fish out of his bowl and left a classroom of children as it flopped around, telling them that if anyone left their seat, they would be expelled. All of the children sat and watched as this fish flopped, gasping for air, not wanting to get up in order to avoid getting in trouble. Finally, a girl sprang up from her seat and ran to the fish, placing it back in the bowl. Ultimately, she was the only one who refused to watch the fish die.
When the teacher returned, he told the class that this was a lesson. That the fear of getting in trouble should never stop you from doing what’s right. That sometimes, you may have to oppose authority and group think, simply because it’s the right thing to do. – Lydia.
God Answers. In His Time
You’ll wait. You’ll pray. You’ll get frustrated. You’ll question everything. But you’ll keep praying. You will learn patience. And one day, when you least expect it, God answers. God will give you what you are praying for, but remember, it’s in His time, not yours.
