Four Seasons Collection
Our First Collection of 2025 will take place next weekend 29th/30th March to raise funds to replace our current sacristy bathrooms and small kitchen area. At present they are not functioning properly, causing blockages and leaks throughout the sacristy area, destroying the carpet. This collection plays a vital role in achieving the completion of these projects. Please support this collection on the 29th/30th March.
Reflection on the Scriptures
Our Zoom reflections are held on Mondays 7.30-8.30pm. Insight and understanding are gained as we reflect on the readings for the following Sunday. All are welcome. Contact Phyllis 086 890 9488 with email address.
Journey Through Lent – Invitation
Journey with us for one hour each Tuesday through Lent as we reflect on the Word of God in preparation for a more personally meaningful Easter season. Led by Fr Séamus in our Parish Centre. Tuesdays 7.15–8.15pm – All most welcome

More ideas for Lent
- Give a donation to a local charity.
- Attend morning prayer in our Church
- Go on retreat for a day.
- Let God choose your cross. Pray about this cross then embrace it as the will of God – to the best of your ability.
‘Let it alone this year also, until I dig round it …’
The readings this week encourage us to repent. Reflecting on what happened to the people of God in the Old Testament can help us to avoid making the same errors.
In the First Reading Moses is drawn towards a burning bush, where God reveals himself as the creator of all things and indicates his name: ‘I am who I am’.
St Paul (Second Reading) reminds the Corinthians of how their forebears failed to please God in the desert. This should be a warning to them: they must always be on their guard. Being baptised is no guarantee against falling into temptation.
The Psalm expresses our gratitude to God for being loving, patient and compassionate.
This same compassion is exemplified in the Gospel. After a call to repentance, the parable of the fig tree illustrates how patient God is, even when, like that tree, his people – us – do not bear fruit over a long period of time.
As Pilgrims of Hope in this Jubilee year, we pray to that we show greater compassion and forgiveness towards those who repent of their trespasses against us. Perhaps we can.
Trócaire 2025
LIma, the mother of the family on our Trócaire box this year, says: ‘We have noticed the weather changing in the last few years. It is now hotter, and we have more droughts. Then it starts to rain, and it won’t stop raining. A more intense rain, more frequently.” Read more about LIma and the Climate Crisis at www.trocaire.org
Trócaire boxes are on the back table in our Church – please take one and return during Holy Week.
Please come into the Parish Centre after Mass Mon, Tues, Wed, Sat or Sunday during Lent to donate to Trócaire and take some books. All book donations will be given to Trócaire Lenten Campaign.
A Message from Pope Francis
“Respect yourself, respect others. Walk your own path and let go of the path others have chosen for you. Respect: do not comment, do not judge, do not interfere.
Love more, forgive more, embrace more, live more intensely! And leave the rest in the hands of the Creator.”
Congratulations
Congratulations to the children of ABACAS School who received the sacrament of Communion last Friday in our Church, celebrated by Fr Finbarr.

Life Is Strange
Life is strange. We come with nothing and fight for everything, and in the end, we leave everything and leave with nothing.
Life is a fleeting journey, a cycle of gaining and losing. We arrive empty-handed, yet we spend our days chasing, building and holding on, as if we could outrun time itself.
We grasp for love, success, meaning – desperate to make something of the fleeting moments we are given.
But no matter how much we gather, there comes a day when we must let it all go. But maybe the beauty of life is not in what we hold, but in what we give, in the love we share, the kindness we leave behind, the lives we touch along the way.
You’ll Be Back
Right now, you’re living in survival mode. You’re numb, lifeless, exhausted. Now and again, you feel that panic, when you realise how far you’ve sailed from your old self. But this is temporary.
You’re doing what your human instinct told you to do. You’re hunkered down, getting through, enduring It’s not permanent.
When your world feels safe again, when you take the first tentative steps back out there, you’ll resurface. Your spark will reignite. Lightly at first but then brighter than ever before.
Right now, you’re living in survival mode and that’s okay my friend.
You’ll be back. You never really left.
Do It Now
Don’t leave anything for later. Later, the coffee gets cold. Later, you lose interest. Later, the day turns into night. Later, people grow old. Later, life goes by.
Later, you regret not doing something… when you had the chance.

Thought for the Week
The idea that some lives matter less is the root cause of all that is wrong with the world.
