The Building Hope Prayer
Pilgrim God, we give you thanks and praise. You constantly journey with us even in our darkness and doubts. We seek your way of loving kindness to walk together as one family.
Open our eyes to recognise you in the faces of one another,
in the breaking of bread and in the splendour of creation. May the risen Christ sow seeds of hope and new life deep within us. May our hearts and minds be filled with your Word, bringing forth truth, justice and peace. May the Holy Spirit working in and through us do much more than we can dare to imagine as we live out our baptismal calling in humble and loving service. We make this our prayer through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Building Hope Task Force – Parish Meeting
We heard about the Building Hope initiative, about how the Parish and the Archdiocese will plan for the future and the renewal of faith communities, at all masses late last year. Archbishop Dermot Farrell has now invited each parish, as part of the Building Hope strategy, to reflect on how best to
respond to the pastoral situation in which we find ourselves. As part of this process, a Parish meeting has been arranged in the Parish Centre on Wednesday 25 May at 7-30pm to discuss our response. Everyone is welcome. The aspects for discussion includes Faith, Welcome, Servant, Leadership – what works well in our Parish / what needs work and which parishes would it make sense for our parish to be in local partnership, etc.
If attendance at the meeting does not suit you, you can email feedback to: info@kilbarrackfoxfieldparish.ie or, if you prefer, you can complete the Questionnaire and drop it into the Sacristy – there are copies at the back of the church. All feedback will be considered as part of the Parish submission. Reflection on Sunday’s Readings
‘Love one another, just as I have loved you’
We are invited to live as part of God’s glorious plan to bring about a new creation. Jesus’s new commandment to ‘love one another just as I have loved you’ is the key to transforming our world.(Gospel). This week we might pray to love others more and more as Jesus loves us, so that we can play our own part in making all things new. We remember those parts of the world where hatred and destruction are evident, asking that love and mercy may prevail. We join with others in praying for peace for the people of Ukraine and Eastern Europe.
Lay Ministry Diocesan Collection This Weekend
Archbishop Dermot Farrell says “The time has come to commit ourselves to creative approaches that harness the time and talent lay people can make available, and support them in developing their skills for use in the faith community – working as part of a parish team in many different ways including building teams for sacramental preparation for baptism, communion and confirmation, supporting families at funeral time and building communities that are faith-filled, co-responsible, active in social justice, welcoming and inclusive. These lay ministry roles are crucial for the road ahead. There is no other way. Indeed, there is more: our faith tells us that this is the way God is calling the Church to follow Christ today. Prayer for Ukraine
Holy and Gracious God. We pray for the people of Ukraine and the people of Russia, for their countries and their leaders. We pray for all those who are afraid; that your everlasting arms hold them in this time of great fear.
We pray for all those who have the power over life and death; that they will choose for all people life, and life in all its fullness. We pray for those who choose war; that they will remember that you direct your people to turn our swords into ploughshares and seek for peace. We pray for leaders on the world stage; that they are inspired by the wisdom and courage of Christ. Above all, Lord, today we pray for peace for Ukraine. And we ask this in the name of your blessed Son. Lord have mercy. Amen.

First Holy Communion
This Sunday, 15th May, We welcome the children from Scoil Eoin as they receive their First Holy Communion. This is a joyful occasion for the children and their families – it is the first time since 2019 that we can celebrate as a Parish community in the month of May.

The Keys to Freedom
The following was told to a reporter by a man who escaped Mariupol: “I came out of the bomb shelter and saw a car near the store, the keys were inside. I watched the car for two hours, waited for the owner – no one showed up. I took my family, got in the car and drove to Vinnytsia where my relatives live. Then I found the phone number in the glove compartment and called the owner: “I’m sorry, I stole your car. I was saving my family.”
“Thank God, don’t worry, I have four cars. I took my family out in my SUV. I had refuelled my other cars and left them in different places with the keys in and the phone number in the glove compartment. From all four cars I received a call back. Once there’s peace, I hope we’ll see each other. Stay safe!”
