Dear Heavenly Father, we bring this situation before you and ask for a swift end to violence. Our hearts are breaking for the children and families in Gaza and Israel who have and continue to experience the unspeakable horror of attacks and war all around them. We pray for peace and ask that you will guide the hearts and minds of those in leadership. We especially pray for those children who have been physically and emotionally injured, and for those who have lost loved ones, that you will provide the right people with the right resources to help them, and that you will protect each person. Lord, we ask for your wisdom for all those involved and for the wider international community. Amen
The Sanctuary in our Church reflects the focus of each Sunday in Advent. The theme this week is ‘Come Lord Jesus’. The Jesse tree tells the story each week of the family tree of Jesus with each of his ancestors represented by a symbol. This week we have the sandal for John the Baptist, saw for Joseph, crown of stars for Mary and the Chi Rho for Jesus.

We extend very best wishes for a happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas to all our parishioners and their families. We keep in mind the family members who are far away and unable to travel this year and will include them in our prayers.
We send a big welcome and Christmas wishes to all those who have joined our parish recently.
Those who were bereaved during the last year will have a special place in our thoughts and prayers during this Christmas season which is a difficult and sad time for you.

Reflection on Sunday’s Readings
The Fourth Sunday of Advent is swallowed up in Christmas Eve.
In our First Reading, God does not allow David to build him a physical house but promises rather to build him a house, a dynasty, which will last forever.
The Psalm reinforces this promise and emphasizes God’s Fatherly love and faithfulness.
St Paul, in the Second Reading, tells of how God’s mystery, kept secret through the ages, has now been revealed in the person of Jesus Christ.
In the Gospel, the well-loved narration of the Annunciation to Mary, we note how the angel emphasizes that her Son will be of the House of David. Mary willingly agrees to be part of God’s plan.
Tomorrow is Christmas Day: may we hold out our suffering world in yearning to the Prince of Peace.
Praying Christmastide with Pope Francis
Time around Christmas can be frantic, allowing little space to meditate on the mystery of the Incarnation: God’s love coming in the person of Jesus. Whether we are busy or not, we can still pause to marvel at the miracle of this small baby born into obscurity and poverty. St Beuno’s Outreach invites you to pray with a blend of scripture passages and related reflections by Pope Francis. Please use them in whatever way is best for you. On some days, a phrase or image may be enough; on others, you may have time for a leisurely celebration of the joy and hope brought by this holy birth. The images come mostly from the Holy Land and Ukraine, with thanks to the Palestinian artist Sliman Mansour, and the young iconographers of the Iconart Gallery, Lviv, Ukraine. Their work will help us pray for peace where people are broken and suffering this Christmas.

New Pilgrim Path – Christmas
For Christmas Eve, NPP brings you a beautiful musical reflection based on a text from Isaiah. ‘This lovely piece, ‘The Virgin is with Child’, is composed in the style of a Baroque aria, a solo voice accompanied by a guitar and a chorus singing the carol ‘Es ist ein Ros’.

Sometimes A Season of Sorrow
Someone you know is preparing for their first Christmas without their husband, wife, mother, father, brother, sister, daughter or son. Others are preparing for their last.
Regardless of the specifics, remember that this season of joy is often a season of sorrow for many. Be kind, be generous, give love, give help; if nothing else, don’t give people a hard time.’ In all you do, remember the reason for the season.
The story of Saint Nicholas is such a beautiful one. His love is spread all over the world right up to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Santa who is alive and well today began with the kindness and the love of Saint Nicholas. We thank Santa for all the love he creates every Christmas. There is a lot of love in our world today thanks to Santa. We share this love with each other whether you are 1 or 100+ Thanks to Saint Nicholas and Santa our world is a better place. Pray for the Best for Those you Love
Hate no one, no matter how much they’ve wronged you. Live humbly, no matter how wealthy you become. Think positively, no matter how hard life is. Give much, even if you’ve been given little. Keep in touch with those who have forgotten you, and forgive who has wronged you, and do not stop praying for the best for those you love.
