Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

Archbishop Farrell and Building Hope Task Force
The archbishop’s video about the new Task Force was shown at Masses last week. It is available until 18th July. at – www.dublindiocese.ie and we ask you to link on this as soon as possible. You are asked to consult with family members and then complete the online form and submit to the archbishop.
May the Holy Spirit working in and through us, do much more than we can dare to imagine as we live out our baptismal calling in humble and loving service.

This week we include special prayers for Pope Francis as he recovers from colon surgery and wish him a speedy recovery.

We extend huge thanks to all who have donated to the special Summer Dues Collection set up by Archbishop Farrell. This is very much appreciated as there are many demands on everyone at this time. We encourage as many people as possible to contribute to this to help to alleviate the huge shortfall in collections in our parish and all over the diocese.

Reflection on Today’s Gospel
‘Take nothing for the journey except a staff’
It has always been God’s plan to choose ordinary people like us to help spread the Good News. Jesus asks us to listen, and really come to know him and trust him, and we will be blessed with all we need to follow his way.
Amos, a shepherd, has simply listened and responded with courage and faith to God’s call. He has spoken up for the poor of Bethel. (First reading)
Paul’s letter to the Ephesians begins with a prayer of praise and blessing to God. We have always been part of God’s plan: ‘Before the world was made, God chose us.’ Through the gifts of Christ and our faith, we are God’s loved and forgiven sons and daughters. (Second Reading)
In the Gospel, Jesus sends out the apostles in pairs to support one another, teaching others the message of love and repentance they have seen and learnt from him. They are to carry nothing other than a staff, but to trust in God’s love and rely on the hospitality of others.
Let’s pray that we show Jesus’ message in our love for those we meet each day and to be witnesses to the joy of our faith in the way in which we live our lives.
Annual Charity Tax Refund Scheme
We are sending out forms for updating to 47 parishioners for the annual charity tax refund scheme and would appreciate it if they are completed by signing and including PPS number and returned to the parish office. These forms will suffice for five years but if you prefer a yearly one, please contact Janice. If you do not wish to be involved, please let the parish office know.
New Pilgrim Path Website of the Week
The late, great Irish poet, author and philosopher, John O’Donohue, wrote that “The greatest sin is the unlived life”. Pathways – Exploring Faith and Ministry Programme
Applications are invited for the above Adult Faith Development course. This is a two-year, one night a week (Thursdays) programme starting on 30th September in DCU, St Patrick’s Campus, Drumcondra. No exams or written work. Some parishioners completed this course in the past and found it excellent in enhancing their faith development. Raheny Country Market Back in Busniess
The local Country Market is back in business following a long absence due to Covid. Slight change – now on Thursdays from 10.45am-12pm in All Saints Hall in Raheny. Come along and see the great array of homemade cakes and jams etc.
Fáilte Bayside – On Your Bike!
The Fáilte Bayside group is planning a sponsored cycle in Bayside (stationary bike), to raise funds to cover on-going expenses for a Syrian family which will be housed in the area. Volunteers are needed for this worthy cause, to cycle at an arranged time between 9am and 6pm on Saturday 24thJuly in the grounds of Bayside Church. Please contact Eileen at 085-114-8200.

Bereaved families, and those who support and care for them, have had to adjust to dramatically different circumstances during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this study, we want to explore the impact of public health measures, which were meant to limit virus transmission, on your experience of dealing with dying, death, and Catholic funerals. Cycle Against Suicide
Cycle Against Suicide is working to train and deploy a network of ‘Community Buddies’ into communities across Ireland. It is inviting individuals who are already garda-vetted in clubs and associations to participate in this training free of charge.
