Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

Praying for Vocations
Archbishop Farrell is asking everyone to pray on a regular basis for vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life. As you are well aware, the need is great, so let’s answer God’s call and “Pray the Lord of the harvest to send labourers into his harvest”.
Reflection on Today’s Liturgy
‘You have the message of eternal life, and we believe!’
This Sunday, the readings invite us to consider honestly the depth of our love for the Lord. The same challenging questions once put to the Israelites by Joshua, and later to the disciples by Jesus, are being asked of us today.
The Second Reading is e a discourse on the deep love that Christ has for the Church, a love so strong that it is compared to an intimate, loving relationship between husband and wife.
(Gospel). Jesus teaching on the Living Bread of Life proved too challenging for many of Jesus’s followers. Turning to the Twelve, Jesus asks if they want to leave too. But Peter speaks for them all, and perhaps for the whole Christian community, in saying: ‘Lord who shall we go to? You have the message of eternal life.’
This week, we pray especially that our spiritual life may nourish us and all those around us, and that we may have a loving commitment to follow the Lord at all times.

New Pilgrim Path Website of the Week
| The ‘Christian Art’ website is the brainchild of Patrick van der Vorst, past director of Sotheby’s, London, now studying for the Catholic priesthood in the Diocese of Westminster. Visitors can sign up for a daily email which contains the Gospel of the day and is accompanied by a work of art which is appropriate to that reading, along with a reflection on the artwork and the reading. ‘We simply give you the tools for you to meditate on the daily Gospel alongside a work of art’, he says. Simple, it may be, but the results can be astonishing. The often surprising art choices – ancient and modern, paintings, sculptures, installations, furnishings – and his imaginative commentary achieve at times the almost impossible: bringing the shock of newness to scripture passages long blunted by familiarity. A Child of God
Lord, entice my inner child to come out and play
And delight in the little gifts I receive each today.
Through the smog of life let me always see
That the Heavenly Father’s love is always there for me.
I don’t need complex theological debate
Only simple childlike trust and faith.
I am inclined to think I know it all
Such adult arrogance is my downfall.
You are God, and I’m your little one
That’s the simple truth when all is said and done.
I’m Your child, let me act in a childlike way
And rest in Your tender Heart today and everyday.

A Difficult Day
“Today was a Difficult Day,” said Pooh.
There was a pause.
“Do you want to talk about it?” asked Piglet.
“No,” said Pooh after a bit. “No, I don’t think I do.”
“That’s okay,” said Piglet, and he came and sat beside his friend.
“What are you doing?” asked Pooh.
“Nothing, really,” said Piglet. “Only, I know what Difficult Days are like. I quite often don’t feel like talking about it on my Difficult Days either.
“But goodness,” continued Piglet, “Difficult Days are so much easier when you know you’ve got someone there for you. And I’ll always be here for you, Pooh.”
And as Pooh sat there, working through in his head his Difficult Day, while the solid, reliable Piglet sat next to him quietly, swinging his little legs . . . he thought that his best friend had never been more right.”

Positivity Is A Victory
“To be hopeful in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty, but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness.
What we choose to emphasize in this complex history will determine our lives. If we see only the worst, it destroys our capacity to do something. If we remember those times and places – and there are so many – where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different direction.
And if we do act, in however small a way, we don’t have to wait for some grand utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvellous victory” – Howard Zinn
Forgiveness Heals You Both
“It took me a long time to understand what it means to forgive someone. I always wondered how I could forgive someone who chose to hurt me? But after a lot of soul searching, I realized that forgiveness is not about accepting or excusing their behaviour. It’s about letting it go and preventing their behaviour from destroying my heart.” – Spiritual Bliss.
See the Wildflowers
“Some people could be given an entire field of roses, and only see the thorns in it. Others could be given a single weed and only see the wildflower in it. Perception is a key component to gratitude. And gratitude is a key component to joy.” – Amy Weatherby
Thought for the Week
“If we have the attitude that it’s going to be a great day, it usually is.” – Catherine Pulsifier
