Reflection on Today’s Gospel
‘Put out into deep water!’
The readings this Sunday speak of Christ’s call to us, and the mission given to each of us to follow him and to proclaim the Lord’s message. In the Gospel we read of Jesus’s calling of Simon, James and John. Having fished all night without success, they respond to Jesus’s invitation to ‘put out into deep water and are rewarded with an enormous catch of fish. Assuring them they have nothing to fear, Jesus gives them their mission as fishers of people. This week, we pray that as we hear Christ calling us to our own unique mission, we will have the courage to put aside our fears of unworthiness. We ask the Lord for the grace to place all our faith and trust in him, and for generosity to play our part in building his kingdom here on earth.
Annual Collection for ACCORD
The ANNUAL COLLECTION for ACCORD Dublin, the Diocesan Agency for Marriage and Family, will be made at all Masses next weekend of 12th/13th February. ACCORD throughout the Diocese offers: Marriage Preparation courses – online, small groups; Counselling for couples and individuals experiencing difficulties in their relationships, online or by phone; A Relationship and Sexuality Programme for schools. ACCORD needs your support this year more than ever.
Newflash – Our Parish Centre is Re-Opening
The great news this week is about the re-opening of our Parish Centre. To celebrate this, we invite people to drop into the centre any weekday morning from 10.30am- 12.30pm for a chat, a cuppa, and a choice of book from our large and varied selection. We are really looking forward to renewing old friendships and
meeting new friends. As we want to keep everyone safe and well, every effort will be made to ensure social distancing, movement etc. Masks must be worn when moving around. So come along and join us any morning that suits you and be assured of a ‘céad mile fáilte’!
Active Retirement Association

Current Advice from the Diocese re Covid 19
The Covid virus is still circulating in the community, and we advise caution and prudence over the coming weeks. Mask wearing is still in place. Sanitising stations should remain available and certain social distancing should continue. It is hoped that national church guidelines will be issued over the coming weeks.
