My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.

Trócaire Lenten Campaign 2022

Pope Francis on Welcoming Migrants
Pope Francis stresses “that we must always be open to hearing the stories of migrants, the only way to get beyond an often distorted vision of this phenomenon presented in the media. Each of them is the bearer of a wealth infinitely greater than the problems that welcoming them might entail.”
Mission Impossible!
Pope Francis is urging all Catholics to understand that they are called to be missionary disciples. So, the Dublin Diocese and the Spiritan Fathers invite us to a course on Wednesday evenings, 7.30-9.30pm, 4th May to 8th June, in Kimmage Parish Hall, Church of the Holy Spirit. Cost €30. Requests for Holy Week
We ask parishioners to bring plants and flowers during Holy Week for the Easter Garden and mini-eggs or small chocolate bars for distribution after Masses on Easter Sunday.
Urgent Easter Mailing
Please help to deliver the Easter mailing envelopes from the back table. It is imperative that these are delivered before Wednesday. Each bundle has an extra 1 or 2 in it to allow for new builds.
Special Invitation to Children for Good Friday
We are seeking soldiers, disciples, women of Jerusalem etc. for the children’s Stations of the Cross on Good Friday. Come to the Parish Centre at 11am to prepare.
Reflection on Today’s Gospel
‘Into your hands I commit my spirit’
Today we read two passages from the Gospels – the joyful entry of Jesus into Jerusalem and then his betrayal and death alone and abandoned by all. St Paul (Second Reading) speaks of Christ’s humility in becoming a human being and accepting to die a shameful death on a cross. But God raised him from death and gave him the highest name of all, so that all beings should bend the knee to Jesus and ‘acclaim Jesus Christ as Lord, to the glory of God the Father.’ This week we accompany Jesus; we pray for the grace of awareness of our sinfulness, and for sorrow and true contrition in the face of the sufferings of Jesus. We also continue to pray for peace across the world, especially in Ukraine and eastern Europe.
Holy Thursday – Ministers of the Eucharist
Renewal of the commitment of all lay ministers of the Eucharist will take place during the Holy Thursday ceremonies at 7.30pm in our Church.
Prayer for the Ukraine
Holy and Gracious God. We pray for the people of the Ukraine and the people of Russia, for their countries and their leaders. We pray for all those who are afraid; that your everlasting arms hold them in this time of great fear.
We pray for all those who have the power over life and death; that they will choose for all people life, and life in all its fullness. We pray for those who choose war; that they will remember that you direct your people to turn our swords into ploughshares and seek for peace. We pray for leaders on the world stage; that they are inspired by the wisdom and courage of Christ. Above all, Lord, today we pray for peace for Ukraine. And we ask this in the name of your blessed Son. Lord have mercy. Amen

“The pandemic has shown us the self-giving and generosity of health care workers, volunteers, support staff, priests, and religious men and women,” says Pope Francis. He asks us to pray for them and urges governments to prioritize making good healthcare accessible to all. Healthcare depends “on men and women who dedicate their lives to taking care of other people’s health and many “have given their lives during this pandemic to help so many sick people recover.”
