Come Celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday
The Divine Mercy Novena commenced on Good Friday (Leaflets available in the Church) to welcome the Feast of Mercy being celebrated here next Sunday, 24th April, starting at 3pm with Mass at 5.30pm. Includes Procession, Rosary, Confession, Chaplet and Mass. The Healing of the Generations will also be celebrated. All are welcome.
The End of our Lenten Journey
During the Mass on Holy Thursday, the donations collected for the Trócaire Campaign were presented. We are renewed as we celebrate the gift of new life and a fresh start at Easter. This is reflected in our Easter garden. The flowers, plants, water and open tomb speak for themselves. “The Lord has indeed risen, alleluia”
A Message of Thanks
Many thanks to all who brought flowers, plants and chocolate to the Church for Easter and to all who helped put together and deliver the Easter mailing. We ask you to bring small bottles to the Church for Easter water.

Happy Easter
The priests of the parish wish you all a very happy Easter. May the Risen Lord fill your hearts with great joy.
The Church in Ireland is living through a period of profound change. This is inevitably going to affect our parish life.
Archbishop Farrell on his arrival in the diocese established a task force to assist him implement change to help us face the new challenges. He is grateful to all who gave their responses.
Now he is moving it on to the next stage. This Easter he has written a Pastoral Letter “ Living the Hope of Easter”. He has a also written a Statement of. Mission.
Copies of both are available in the church as well as the diosesan website.
Between now and Pentecost each parish is being asked to respond to the pastoral situation we find ourselves in. Between now and 7th May parishes are asked to form a Parish Building Hope Leadership Group. This is not confined to Parish Finance and Pastoral Councils. I am asking for YOUR help in this. During the second half of May you will be invited to a parish gathering.
I will keep you updated as we proceed on our journey Building Hope.

Easter Prayer – Henri Nouwen
“Almighty and everlasting God, on this day you conquered death through your Son and opened for us the path to eternal life. And so, we celebrate in joy the feast of his Resurrection. Make us new through your Spirit, that we, too, may rise and walk in the light of life. Amen.”
Reflection on Sunday’s Readings
We begin today by visiting the empty tomb with Mary, Peter and John (Gospel). They fail to understand the teaching of the scripture at first, but then John sees and believes – as we are invited to reflect, ponder, and treasure these things in our hearts throughout Eastertide. Belief in the resurrected Jesus brings the fruit of forgiveness, which clears out the yeast of evil to make way for the gifts of sincerity and truth (Second Reading). Let’s pray that our gratitude for all the Lord has done for us, will impel us to go out and bear witness to his name through lives lived by peace, joy and hope. We continue to pray for peace in the whole world, and especially for the people of Ukraine and eastern Europe.
Eucharistic Adoration
Adoration will resume this Tuesday, 19th April, after morning Mass and Rosary. We invite as many people as possible to be involved in the Eucharistic Adoration. You are welcome to choose a day and time that suits you best.

Each year, we celebrate the great events that give us new life in Christ, and each year, Easter is different, because we are different. The great adventure of the synodal pathways has already begun to shape our way of being a community of faith and a solid foundation has been laid. Ultimately, it is not all about ‘church’ but instead all about the Good News and how we may better proclaim the ‘yes’ of God in Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 1:19)
We are an Easter people and alleluia is our song!

Mission Impossible!
Pope Francis is urging all Catholics to understand that they are called to be missionary disciples. Prayer for the Ukraine
Holy and Gracious God. We pray for the people of the Ukraine and the people of Russia, for their countries and their leaders. We pray for all those who are afraid; that your everlasting arms hold them in this time of great fear.
We pray for all those who have the power over life and death; that they will choose for all people life, and life in all its fullness. We pray for those who choose war; that they will remember that you direct your people to turn our swords into ploughshares and seek for peace. We pray for leaders on the world stage; that they are inspired by the wisdom and courage of Christ. Above all, Lord, today we pray for peace for Ukraine. And we ask this in the name of your blessed Son. Lord have mercy. Amen

Choirfest for Ukraine – Sunday 24th April
