Petitions for Leaving Certificate Students
A basket is in front of the altar for petitions for this year’s Leaving Certificate students who will be remembered in the Mass every day during the exams.
Prayer for Students doing Exams.
Lord, pour out your Spirit of Wisdom on these students: help them to remain calm, to attend carefully to the questions asked, to think clearly, to remember accurately, and to express themselves well. Grant that they may reflect on the best of the work they have done and the best of the teaching they have received. Accept their best efforts in these examinations and in the great test of life on earth. May your love be upon them, O Lord, as they place all their trust in you. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Reflection on Sunday’s Reading
On the night before His passion and death, Jesus instituted the Holy Eucharist where He transformed bread and wine into His Body and Blood, shared them with His disciples and instructed them to do it in remembrance of Him. The Apostles did as they were instructed as we read in the epistle of Saint Paul, “For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 11:23-27)

- Cemetery Mass in St Fintan’s Cemetery, Sutton today, Sunday at 12 noon.
- Calling Everyone in Our Community – We are entered in the Dublin City Council Neighbourhood Competition which will be judged this month. We are asking each household to give 10/15 minutes a day to remove rubbish and tidy their environment. Garden grass and hedge clippings must go in the brown bin.

When Parents Get Old
Let them grow old with the same love that they let you grow. Let them speak and tell repeated stories with the same patience and interest that they heard yours as a child.
