Change of Mass time – Saturday Evening Vigil Mass
The Saturday evening Mass will change from 6.30pm to 6pm commencing on Saturday 3rd September. The Saturday Vigil Mass in Bayside is at 7pm.
The Building Hope Prayer
Pilgrim God, we give you thanks and praise. You constantly journey with us even in our darkness and doubts. We seek your way of loving kindness to walk together as one family.
Open our eyes to recognise you in the faces of one another, in the breaking of bread and in the splendour of creation. May the risen Christ sow seeds of hope and new life deep within us. May our hearts and minds be filled with your Word, bringing forth truth, justice and peace. May the Holy Spirit working in and through us do much more than we can dare to imagine as we live out our baptismal calling in humble and loving service. Fr Peter’s Appointment as Parish Priest

Dear Fr Peter,
I am grateful to you for having accepted the appointment of Parish Priest of the Parish of Bayside and the Parish of Kilbarrack/Foxfield, with effect from the weekend of 20th/21st August 2022. I thank you for your ministry over the past six years in these parishes. I wish you every blessing for this new stage of your priestly ministry.
Your new appointment will be for a three-year period.
You begin your new ministry in challenging times. I know that you will work to build up a strong parish team, involving lay faithful, as you work to support the active members of the parish community, as well as those who have drifted away. I would ask you to devote special attention to the youth of the parish and to young families.

Dues Collection

Reflection on Readings for this Sunday
The last shall be first …’
This Sunday’s scripture tells us that our God is one who desires to gather all people, from far and wide and from lands that have never heard of the Lord. God also wishes to reach those who are considered last, those who are overlooked. Today’s readings show a Lord with priorities that differ from the norm. The ones anticipating a place at the banquet will lose it, but those expecting no place at the feast will be offered one (Gospel). Those who have never seen or heard of God’s glory will be the ones to see it (First Reading). Those experiencing suffering are to remember that they are God’s children and not forgotten (Second Reading). This week may we go out into the whole of the world and proclaim the Good News through our lives (Psalm). We remember those who are suffering in war and conflict in Ukraine and beyond.
Eucharistic Adoration
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place from 11am-3pm from Tuesday to Friday each week.
Prayer for Ukraine
Holy and Gracious God. We pray for the people of Ukraine and the people of Russia, for their countries and their leaders. We pray for all those who are afraid; that your everlasting arms hold them in this time of great fear. We pray for all those who have the power over life and death; that they will choose for all people life, and life in all its fullness. We pray for those who choose war; that they will remember that you direct your people to turn our swords into ploughshares and seek for peace. We pray for leaders on the world stage; that they may be inspired by the wisdom and courage of Christ. Above all, Lord, today we pray for peace for Ukraine. And we ask this in the name of your blessed Son. Lord, have mercy. Amen.

Her journey led this single mother from atheism, communism and anarchy to radical Catholicism. She called all believers to fight racism, war and poverty. I’m Slowly Learning
I’m slowly learning that the energy it takes to react to every bad thing that happens to you drains you and stops you from seeing the other good things in life. I’m slowly learning that I’m not going to be everyone’s cup of tea and I won’t be able to get everyone to treat me the way I want to be treated and that’s okay.
