Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place from 11am-3pm, Tuesday to Friday.
Reflection on Sunday’s Readings – ‘In your great love, answer me’.
Because we live in anxious, troubling times, with so many people around the world suffering intolerably, today’s readings can speak especially to us.
Jeremiah, in the First Reading, reflects on how his preaching has brought him suffering and isolation. Yet ‘the Lord is at my side, a mighty hero.’ The Psalmist cries out in anguish, but like Jeremiah, trusts that the Lord will answer with ‘help that never fails.’
St Paul considers how sin and death hold sway in the world, but Christ has gained for us the abundant free gift of divine grace. (Second Reading)
In the Gospel, Jesus twice tells his disciples, ‘Do not be afraid’. Suffering will come their way, but the Father will always care tenderly for them.
Our lives, and those of our loved ones, can be weighed down by fears, concerns, or pain. May we strive to place our trust in the Lord, who is the ‘strength of his people’.
Service of the Healing of the Generations

- SVDP will hold their monthly outdoor collection this weekend after all Masses. Your support is always appreciated.
- Calling Everyone in Our Community – Judging has started in the Dublin City Council Neighbourhood Competition – so its urgent that we all do our bit! We are asking each household to give 10/15 minutes a day to remove rubbish and tidy their environment. (Garden grass and hedge clippings must go in the brown bin}.
- The Priory Institute two- week online Summer School on Gospel of John 14th-28th August. Includes eight recorded presentations; two on-line zoom discussions delivered entirely online. See prioryinstitute.com

Small Kindnesses
I’ve been thinking about the way, when you walk
down a crowded aisle, people pull in their legs
to let you by. Or how strangers still say “bless you”
when someone sneezes, a leftover
from the Bubonic plague. “Don’t die,” we are saying.
And sometimes, when you spill lemons
from your grocery bag, someone else will help you
pick them up. Mostly, we don’t want to harm each other.
We want to be handed our cup of coffee hot,
and to say thank you to the person handing it. To smile
at them and for them to smile back.
We have so little of each other, now. So far
from tribe and fire. Only these brief moments of exchange.
What if they are the true dwelling of the holy, these
fleeting temples we make together when we say, “Here, have my seat,” “Go ahead — you first,” “I like your hat.”

Celtic Blessing
May the strength of the wind and the light of the sun, the softness of the rain and the mystery of the moon, reach you and fill you.
May beauty delight you and happiness uplift you, may wonder fulfil you and love surround you.
May your step be steady, and your arm be strong.
