Masses Online
Masses in our Church are all on Webcam only – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 10am; Thursday 7.30pm (and Divine Mercy Hour). Sunday 12noon. See www.kilbarrackfoxfieldparish.ie. Details of other Churches also on our website. Every second Sunday RTE1 Mass at 11am and on the alternate weeks, Mass is celebrated on RTE Now at 2.15pm. Weekday Masses from RTE News Now at 10.30am. Those without internet can hear 10am Mass Monday-Friday on Radio Maria by phoning 01-437-3277 from a landline, then press the speaker symbol on your phone.

The power and wisdom of the crucified Christ
We dedicate ourselves anew to keeping God’s commandments. The Gospel shows people who in their greed turned God’s house into a marketplace. As Jesus ejects the buyers and sellers, we are reminded that salvation will come about through the death and resurrection of Christ, the true temple of the Divine.
This week, we pray to hear the Word of God afresh in our own being. We also pray for the freedom of our brothers and sisters throughout the world who are victims of modern-day slavery.

Prayer Network
Throughout Lent, the Presidents of the Bishops’ Conferences throughout Europe invite us to pray for the victims of the pandemic. They join their voices to that of Pope Francis to reiterate the Church’s closeness to all those struggling with the coronavirus: the victims and their families, the sick; the health workers, the volunteers and all those on the front line at this sensitive time. Now they are launching a prayer network, a Eucharistic chain, for the more than 770,000 people in Europe who have died from Covid-19.

Happiness Involves Us All
There was a farmer who grew excellent quality wheat and every season he won the award for the best grown in his county. One year a reporter from the local newspaper interviewed him and learned that each Spring the man shared his seed with his neighbours so that they too could plant it in their fields.
“How can you afford to share your best wheat seed with your neighbours when they are entering their crops in the competition with yours?” he asked.
“Why that’s very simple,” the farmer explained. “The wind picks up pollen from the developing wheat and carries it from field to field. If my neighbours grow inferior wheat, cross-pollination will steadily degrade the quality of all the wheat, including mine.
“If I am to grow good wheat, I must help my neighbours grow good wheat”.
The reporter realised how the farmer’s explanation also applied to peoples’ lives in the most fundamental way. Those who want to live meaningfully and well must help enrich the lives of others, for the value of a life is measured by the lives it touches. And those who choose to be happy must help others find happiness, for the welfare of each is bound up with the welfare of all.
