Altar List of the Dead
The envelopes for our November Altar List of the Dead are on the back table. As we will not be delivering them this year, we ask that everyone takes one and one for a housebound neighbour. Envelopes can be returned to the Parish Office or in the box outside the sacristy door.
We invite people to take part in the wonderful ministry of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament which is in our Church from 11am – 3pm Tuesdays to Fridays each week. Please leave your contact details in the Parish office, noting a day and time that would suit.
A Reflection on Today’s Gospel
God’s Holy Temple
Today’s feast celebrates a mystery that is always relevant: God’s desire to build a spiritual temple in the world, a community that worships him in spirit and truth’ (cf. John 4: 23–24).
The Basilica of St. John Lateran was the first to be built after the edict (313) of Emperor Constantine and is the ecclesiastical seat of the Bishop of Rome. As a result, it is called ‘the mother and head of all the churches of the city and the world’.
The readings for today’s feast recall an essential truth: the temple of stones is but a symbol of the living Christian community which, baptised in life-giving waters (First Reading), gives joy to God’s city (Psalm).
In the era of the new Passover covenant, there is no temple building other than that of the Christian community, in whom the Spirit of Christ lives (Second Reading).
Christ is both temple (Gospel) and foundation, from whom we have our food and healing, our refuge and strength, our grace and our holiness.
As Pilgrims of Hope in this Jubilee Year, we pray that we might, through his Spirit living in us, imitate Christ by our steadfastness, courage and joy in the face of deceit, greed and despair.
The annual Share Appeal Sunday takes place this weekend. This collection funds diocesan services, supports struggling parishes, and promotes pastoral renewal. A letter and newsletter from Archbishop Dermot Farrell highlight the important work that is funded by the weekly collection.

Love Lies Within Me
Patience visited me and it reminded me that good things take time to come to fruition and grow slowly with stability.
Peace visited me And it reminded me that I may remain calm through the storms of life Regardless of the chaos surrounding me.
Hope visited me And it reminded me that better times lay ahead and it would always be there to guide and uplift me.
Humility visited me and it reminded me that I may achieve it not by trying to shrink myself and make myself less but by focusing on serving the world and uplifting those around me.
Kindness visited me and it reminded me to be more gentle, forgiving and compassionate toward myself And those surrounding me.
Confidence visited me and it reminded me to not conceal or suppress my gifts and talents In order to make others feel more comfortable But to embrace what makes me, me.
Focus visited me and it reminded me that other people’s insecurities and judgements about me are not my problem and I should redirect my attention from others back to me.
Freedom visited me and it reminded me that no one has control over my mindset, thoughts and wellbeing but me.
And love visited me and it reminded me that I need not search for it in others as it lies within me.
Thought For The Week
Do not be discouraged by today’s troubles, for they are preparing you for tomorrow’s triumphs. God is moulding you into a vessel of strength. Take one minute to thank God. Romans 5:3-4
