Masses Online
Masses in our Church are all on Webcam only – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 10am; Thursday 7.30pm (and Divine Mercy Hour). Sunday 12noon. See www.kilbarrackfoxfieldparish.ie. Details of other Churches also on our website. Every second Sunday RTE1 Mass at 11am and on the alternate weeks, Mass is celebrated on RTE Now at 2.15pm. Weekday Masses from RTE News Now at 10.30am. Those without internet can hear 10am Mass Monday-Friday on Radio Maria by phoning 01-437-3277 from a landline, then press the speaker symbol on your phone.

This year is dedicated to St Joseph and on his Feast Day 19th March Pope Francis will officially recognise Knock Shrine as an International Marian and Eucharistic Shrine via video link during Mass celebrated in Knock.

Weekly Reflection on the Scriptures

Reflection on Today’s Gospel
God loved the world so much …
God’s love for humanity is proclaimed throughout the liturgy this Sunday. The readings shed light on our story of salvation, and reflect the depth of eternal love that God expresses for all people.
Today’s Gospel tells of the deep truth at the heart of God’s covenant which is revealed to Nicodemus, who represents the ancient knowledge and law of Israel. Jesus brings light and love to a meeting that takes place in darkness and ignorance.
Let us pray that all our hearts will turn towards the light of God’s love. May we, in the way we live our lives, each make manifest God’s love for the world.
Extract from Bishops’ Statement on Covid Restrictions
We note with disappointment that none of the issues raised with the Taoiseach in February has been responded to. We therefore make an urgent appeal that the following matters be addressed:
- That the easing of restrictions from Level 5 should include the restoration of public worship, albeit in a safe and limited way. For people of faith not to be free to worship until regulations return to Level 2, whilst many other restrictions are eased, is seen as particularly distressing and unjust.
- That the number of mourners permitted at funeral services be increased, with immediate effect, noting that in Northern Ireland this number has not been reduced below 25. The current restriction places immense burdens on grieving families, compounding the pain of their loss.
We strongly believe that allowing these measures would contribute greatly to giving a sense of hope and consolation to many in our Church – in line with the central message of Easter. These measures would be a substantial support to the wellbeing of individuals and parish communities.
We encourage Catholics to make their views on these issues known to their own TDs and local representatives.
We wish to remain responsive to public health messaging. For this reason, we are recommending the postponement of the sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation ceremonies for the time being.
We continue to keep in prayer all who are suffering in this time of Covid and those who contribute to their care.
