Family Offering
By now parishioners will have received their Family Offering Boxes. If you wish to receive a Family Offering Box, we have spare ones in the Parish Office. You may choose to contribute yearly or half yearly, or you may wish to set up a Standing Order. Whatever your preference, if you need any assistance, please contact Janice in the Parish Office. We thank everyone for their continued contributions during these difficult times.
10 Good Ideas for 2023
- Focus on a passion, not the way you look.
- Work out to feel good, not be thinner. Instead of obsessing over the scale, obsess over how amazing you feel since you started being more active. Numbers don’t mean much.
- Stop gossiping. Don’t be that person. Spread positivity.
- Give one complimenta day. You never know – it just might make that person feel a lot better.
5. Go a whole day without checking your email. Nobody’s going to die. It can wait until tomorrow.
6. Do Random Acts of Kindness
7. Read a book a month. Reading is good for your brain, it can reduce stress, and it can improve your memory and concentration.
8. Go someplace you’ve never been. Step outside of your comfort zone and do something daring. It’s good for the soul and forces you to learn new things.
9. Clear out the clutter. Clutter is literally bad for your health. Research says it stresses you out.
10. Turn off your phone one night a week. You’re sleeping anyway. You don’t need it.
God Is In Control Of Our Future
This New Year has been foretold.
Your future is at hand.
God knows the fate and outcome
of each and every person.
God has chosen the narrow road.
His wisdom is leading the way.
His great strength can carry your load.
His compassion you will feel every day.
With a new dawn over the horizon,
and the Lord to lead the way,
you can spread your wings like an eagle
and soar through every day.
A New Year With The Lord
A new year is about to unfold
With new opportunities to explore
Doors will open for new experiences,
New adventures with the Lord
Remember not the former things,
The things of this past year,
The Lord will do new things in us,
Much more than we are aware
For He will make a way for us
As we put our trust in Him
And He will guide our every step
By His presence we have within
What God has placed within our hearts,
We find we’ll be able to do
If we look for the opportunities,
We’ll see the door to go through
We mustn’t let anything hold us back
But rise up and take our place
And be all that God wants us to be
With a fresh touch of His grace

A New Start And Fresh Beginning
With a new beginning and fresh start,
Full of inspiration and positive thoughts,
Let’s begin this year with an optimistic thought.
Gone are the days of regret and guilt,
Those rooms full of darkness.
It’s time to move with courage,
Full of confidence and hope.
Let’s begin this year with an optimistic thought.
Live A Better Life
In this new year,
Let’s talk more, chat less.
Let’s call more, text less.
Let’s meet more, Skype less.
Let’s travel more, collect less.
Let’s care more, ignore less.
Let’s do more, gossip less.
Let’s praise more, blame less.
Let’s share more, accumulate less.
Let’s experience more, fear less.
Let’s love more, hate less.
Ring in the Christ that is to Be
Ring in the love of truth and right,
Ring in the common love of good.
Ring out old shapes of foul disease;
Ring out the narrowing lust of gold;
Ring out the thousand wars of old,
Ring in the thousand years of peace.
Ring in the valiant man and free,
The larger heart, the kindlier hand;
Ring out the darkness of the land,
Ring in the Christ that is to be.
Make Aspirations Rather Than Resolutions
Here’s a way to make our new year’s resolutions stronger than the habits they are trying to overcome. The solution is to make the resolution into an aspiration that we repeat, much in the same way that we repeat old patterns of doing things. Instead of repeating old habits we make it a practice to repeat aspirations. The aspirations become a new habit, a good habit.
Aspirations are better than resolutions. Whereas resolutions are full of hopefulness (and maybe fear of failure), aspirations are full of inspiration and set us up for a more joyful state of mind. We are not so obsessed with the outcome because making aspirations is in itself complete. First write down your aspirations, those that reside most deeply in your heart and mind. They begin with the word “May”, such as, “May I accomplish the activity of helping somebody every day.” The aspiration can be about anything positive. Big aspirations cheer us up. Repeat your aspirations daily. Add new ones as your inspiration increases and modify old ones as your outlook and vision change. Repeat them as much as you like.
Prayer for the New Year
Dear God, Thank you that you make all things new. Thank you for all that you’ve allowed into our lives this past year, the good along with the hard things, which have reminded us how much we need you and rely on your presence filling us every single day. We pray for your Spirit to lead us each step of this New Year. We ask that you will guide our decisions and turn our hearts to deeply desire you above all else. We ask that you will open doors needing to be opened and close the ones needing to be shut tight. We ask that you help us release our grip on the things to which you’ve said ‘no,’ ‘not yet’ or ‘wait.’ We ask for help to pursue you first, above every dream and desire you’ve put within our hearts.” — Debbie McDaniel
