Family Offering Boxes
The Family Offering Boxes for 2023 are on the back table for delivery. There are only 3 roads left to deliver. Kilbarrack Road, Howth Road and Howth Junction Cottages. There are 6 boxes not in bags for individual parishioners also. If you do not have a Family Offering box of envelopes and would like to start contributing, please contact Janice in the Parish Office on 01-839 0433.

Happy Christmas
We extend very best wishes for a happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas to all our parishioners and their families. We keep in mind the family members who are far away and unable to travel this year and will include them in our prayers.
We send a big welcome and Christmas wishes to all those who have joined our parish recently.
Those who were bereaved during the last year will have a special place in our thoughts and prayers during this Christmas season which is a difficult and sad time for you.
May the peace of Christ spread throughout our Parish in the year ahead.

Excerpt from Dr. Donna Orsuto’s Message for Christmas
During the Christmas liturgy, we will hear the words, “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel, which means ‘God is with us’” (Mt 1:23). Wherever you are in the world, whatever you are doing, whether you are happy or sad, busy or bored, delighted or depressed, stop for a moment, gaze at the Christ Child, and consider the sheer immensity of God’s gift to you. He brings a love that knows no bounds. He brings a love that is faithful from the womb to the tomb. He brings a love that reaches to every corner of the world and especially to those who are suffering: those in hospitals, in war-torn zones, in situations of dire need. Know that today, Emmanuel, God is with you. Do not doubt his presence.
He came as a baby more than 2,000 years ago.

Prayer for Ukraine
Holy and Gracious God, We pray for the people of Ukraine and the people of Russia, for their countries and their leaders. We pray for all those who are afraid;
that your everlasting arms hold them in this time of great fear. We pray for all those who have the power over life and death; that they will choose for all people life, and life in all its fullness. We pray for those who choose war; that they will remember that you direct your people to turn our swords into ploughshares and seek for peace. We pray for leaders on the world stage; that they may be inspired by the wisdom and courage of Christ. Above all, Lord, today we pray for peace for Ukraine. And we ask this in the name of your blessed Son. Lord, have mercy. Amen.

Slow Down the Chaos this Christmas
This Christmas, forgive someone, or yourself, for something that is no longer worth the precious head and heart space.
This Christmas, build a broken bridge, but don’t hesitate to add an emotional boundary, at your side.
This Christmas, spend more time on those little kind deeds than on shopping, or lay an extra placemat at your table. Your food will stretch if your love does.
This Christmas, refuse to berate yourself for being gloriously human, for over-indulging, for enjoying the moments that matter, and stepping off the crazy treadmill of life.
This Christmas, resist the urge to speed up and instead, slow everything down…
because it’s in the slowing down of the chaos, that we really come alive.
We are not allocated unlimited Christmases my friends,
but we do have this very one.
