Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
Reflection on Sunday’s Readings
In following Jesus’ teaching, we can become silent witnesses to his kingdom in our world. Isaiah, in the First Reading, tells the returned exiles that their prayer and observance are not just for themselves, but for action –and for sharing with their neighbour. They, in turn, will be healed by the way they live.
In the Gospel Jesus tells us that we are to be salt of the earth and light of the world. This is how we give the Father praise. Let us strive to remember that in the darkness of today’s world, we are called to be Christ-like in everything that we do, and in the way we live.
Great News for Our Parish
Our much-loved parishioner Frank Davis, has been awarded the Bene Merenti Medal from Pope Francis – Congratulations Frank. Frank will be presented with this next Sunday at the 12pm Mass. Refreshments will be served in the Parish Centre afterwards and all are invited. Looking forward to celebrating with Frank and his family.
Four Seasons Special Collection
The Four Seasons Special collection for Church maintenance is being reintroduced and the next one will be taken up after all Masses this weekend. You will notice that the external steelwork and the surrounding timber work have been repaired and painted and the gutters have been replaced. However, there are still a number of essential repairs and maintenance items to be done, in particular the heating which needs urgent attention. Your contribution towards the collection will go towards this work and all donations will be very much appreciated – we ask you to be as generous as you can.
