Congratulations to our Pathways Graduates from Kilbarrack Foxfield Parish, Ann Cole, Karen O’Kane and Verity Swan and from Bayside Parish Oliver Flynn, Maureen O’Reilly & Joe Frayne. Archbishop Farrell presented their Certificates in DCUs St. Patrick’s Campus on Thursday 23rd May.
‘BUMPER BOOK AND BUN FEST!’
Don’t forget! “Bumper Book and Bun Fest”, 4pm-7.30pm Saturday 25th; 10am-3pm Sunday 26th May in the Parish Centre. All invited to come to browse the books, donate and enjoy a delicious cream tea. All proceeds donated will go towards the car park resurfacing.
Reflection on Sunday Readings
‘Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.’
We celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity – the central mystery of our faith – God, one in three persons, in whose name we were welcomed at our baptism.
In the First Reading Moses reminds the people of everything God has done for them in releasing them from slavery in Egypt. All they – and we– are asked in return for the prosperity and eternal life that God offers, is that we obey the commandments.
The Psalmist reminds us of the gifts of creation, protection from want and evil, and God’s faithful love.
In the Second Reading, St Paul speaks of the Spirit which makes us children of God. Through this gift, we, like Jesus, can call God our Father, and share in his glory.
In the Gospel we see the risen Jesus handing on to the disciples their mission of baptising people throughout the world in the name of the Trinity. He reminds them, and us, that he remains with us always.
We pray that filled with God’s Spirit, we will be ready to share the Trinity’s message of love with the people we meet.
‘Ordination St. Andrew’s Westland Row
The Ordination of Father Donal Roche as Auxiliary Bishop of Dublin and the welcoming of Bishop Paul Dempsey as he begins his ministry as Auxiliary Bishop of Dublin takes place this Sunday in St. Andrew’s, Westland Row. The Ordination Mass will be livestreamed at 3pm on the day at www.dublindiocese.ie.We remember them in our prayers.
Gospel Readings Evening
Join us in our Church for our last Wednesday before summer 7.30-8.30pm to make the Gospel for next Sunday more meaningful – led by Fr Séamus. Restarts 1st Wednesday. of September.
Reflections on the Scriptures

Irish Catholic Newspaper
We have reinstated the Irish Catholic to 5 per week. Available from Thursdays €3. If there is a shortage, we can increase the order. Please let Janice in the Parish Office know if you wish to avail of the newspaper so we can calculate numbers of interest.
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is held Tuesday to Friday, 11am-3pm, each week.
New Pilgrim Path
The ‘Christian Art’ website is the brainchild of a former director of Sotheby’s, London, Patrick van der Vorst, recently ordained to the Catholic priesthood. He describes his offering as “Simple: one newsletter a day where we simply send you the Gospel reading of the day, alongside a work of art that we believe is poignant, reflective and appropriate to that reading and a short reflection on both. A Big Thank You
We believe it is important to acknowledge the huge amount of work being done quietly during the year including –
- The cleaning of our Church every Monday from 11am-12noon – more volunteers needed urgently, especially during the summer months.
- The preparation of the children for the sacraments during the year.
- The decoration of the Church with beautiful floral arrangements and wall-hangings reflecting each feast and season.
Dublin Diocese Pilgrimage to Lourdes 5th – 10th Sept. 24
The pilgrimage is under the leadership of the Archbishop of Dublin. This year the cost bringing a sick pilgrim estimates around €1200 of which €605 is paid by the Association. Each pilgrim is asked to contribute €595 (if affordable – no sick pilgrim is every refused because of inability to pay. To help the Associations contribution each parish is asked to hold a Church gate collection. All proceeds go to reducing the cost of the pilgrimage. We will be having our Parish Collection later in the year, possibly in August. Further details to follow. See our notice boards for details.

Being a Parent………………………Donna Ashworth
Being a parent is like wearing your heart outside of your body. Then, after years spent nurturing, growing, protecting, keeping alive, letting that heart wander off on its own, into a world, we know, can do such harm to it. And all we can hope for, is that our heart calls home, updates us sometimes, with their stories, their safety, their happiness, their troubles. We can only wish that we will be asked to help mend that heart when needed, a job we have long trained in. Being a parent is like wearing your heart outside of your body and knowing that’s exactly where it’s supposed to be.
