My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.

Reflection on Today’s Gospel
All I want is to know Christ, and the power of his resurrection!’
We are invited to recognise the utter completeness of God’s forgiveness, and his desire to restore us to new life.
Paul loves Christ very deeply. He yearns to be in an intimate relationship with him. Yet he also knows that he cannot be complacent and that he is still ‘straining ahead’ for what is to come. (Second Reading).
The Gospel tells the story of those who look for the public humiliation and condemnation of the woman taken in adultery, and also of Jesus himself. The accusers have a narrow view of the mercy of God and wish to use the woman as an opportunity for scoring points against Jesus. However, Jesus understands wisely and demonstrates bravely the overwhelming mercy of God.
Let us pray to experience the complete acceptance and forgiveness of Jesus in our lives this day. As followers of Christ, may we be heralds of his life-giving love, mercy and freedom to the world. We continue to pray for peace in the world, especially in Ukraine and eastern Europe.
Prayer for the Ukraine
Holy and Gracious God. We pray for the people of the Ukraine and the people of Russia, for their countries and their leaders. We pray for all those who are afraid; that your everlasting arms hold them in this time of great fear.
We pray for all those who have the power over life and death; that they will choose for all people life, and life in all its fullness. We pray for those who choose war; that they will remember that you direct your people to turn our swords into ploughshares and seek for peace. We pray for leaders on the world stage; that they are inspired by the wisdom and courage of Christ. Above all, Lord, today we pray for peace for Ukraine. And we ask this in the name of your blessed Son. Lord have mercy. Amen
Rotary ShelterBox Collection for Ukraine
Raheny Rotary is holding a Shelterbox collection today 2nd/3rd April at the Church after each Mass. Funds raised will provide lifesaving aid for families affected by the Ukraine crisis. Currently Shelterbox is opening a location in Poland to address the anticipated need over many months. There is a sample Shelterbox on view in the Church. Updates on Shelterbox lifesaving activity for Ukrainians are available at www.shelterbox.org.
Mission Impossible!
Pope Francis is urging all Catholics to understand that they are called to be missionary disciples. So, the Dublin Diocese and the Spiritan Fathers invite us to take part in a course on Wednesday evenings, 7.30-9.30pm from 4th May to 8th June. Asking the Beautiful Question
The sudden and keenly-felt absence of loved ones that many are experiencing now around our beleaguered world, can overcome us in the strangest and most surprising moments, and like an opening in the clouds, that suddenly-felt absence is often an invitation to a further horizon, a more profound form of conversation, a deeper understanding of the particular and new form of consolation we may now need, to get to a further understanding of who or what we have lost. This is solace, not as a made-up story we tell ourselves for false comfort, but as a deeper, broader, fiercer sense of presence, a way of paying attention, of being equal to and able for the losses involved in even the most average life, a way of ‘asking the beautiful question.’ David White.
