Petitions for Leaving Certificate Students
From Monday 5th a basket will be in front of the altar for petitions for this year’s Leaving Certificate students who will be remembered in the Mass every day during the exams.
Prayer for Students doing Exams
Lord, pour out your Spirit of Wisdom on these students: help them to remain calm, to attend carefully to the questions asked, to think clearly, to remember accurately, and to express themselves well. Grant that they may reflect on the best of the work they have done and the best of the teaching they have received. Accept their best efforts in these examinations and in the great test of life on earth. May your love be upon them, O Lord, as they place all their trust in you. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place from 11am-3pm, Tuesday to Friday.
Reflection on Sunday’s Reading
We often begin Mass with the prayer from today’s Epistle: “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you.” We praise the God who has revealed Himself as a Trinity, a communion of persons. Communion with the Trinity is the goal of our worship—and the purpose of the salvation history that begins in the Bible and continues in the Eucharist and sacraments of the Church.
In the Gospel, Jesus tells Nicodemus of the overwhelming love God has for the world in sending his Son to be its Saviour. Through Jesus’s death and resurrection, we are given the gift of the Holy Spirit.
In thanksgiving this week, let’s pray St Paul’s blessing, that ‘the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all’.
Garden and Church Grounds
A huge thank you to Louis O’Reilly a local parishioner who tirelessly worked on our Church Garden and grounds last Monday. Louis did a big clean up, cut the grass, cleared the high grass and weeds around each tree and the entrance to the car park and restored the site around the Granite Stone with the Church name. Louis has volunteered to start on the hedging soon.
We would welcome more volunteers to help Louis as it is a big task for one person to take on. If you have some free time and enjoy the outdoors and gardening, please give your name to Janice in the office. Maybe we could get a small team together for this much needed task.
Bumper Book and Bun Weekend
This recent event last weekend raised just over a €1000 euro which has now been donated to our Church Projects Funds. We thank all who supported it. A special thanks is sent to Finola who organised the event and to her team of helpers who put it together. It was a huge success. We also extend thanks to Anne Colbert for her delicious home-baked cakes.
We would like to acknowledge the support of many people in our community who kindly donated items for the raffle. Thanks are extended to all these which include Centra, Adrian Dunne’s Pharmacy, Keith, our local gardening expert, and McHugh’s Restaurant.

- The group who cleans our Church every Monday from 11am-12noon – more volunteers needed urgently, especially during the summer months.
- The Parish Team who prepares and work with the children for the sacraments all year.

If you have books you would like to ‘move on’ please bring them to the Parish Centre by Tuesday 6th June. A Bookshop has offered to buy books from us which will add to the money being collected for the on-going repairs and maintenance costs.

Our searches for God are many, from our local church, attending Mass and saying prayers that vary from traditional to something deeply personal – including finding God in the humdrum of daily life, music, reading, gardening, reflection, meditation, relaxation and so on. The local church can be a place where people meet on joyful and happy occasions such as our recent First Holy Communion Masses, to sad occasions such as a funeral, but all the while there is a sense of connection, togetherness and sharing together.
God’s love for us is constantly bubbling over with life and enthusiasm. Nothing can change this. We pray to the Holy Spirit to re-energise us and to help us find meaning, direction and fulfilment in our daily lives.
