The late, great Irish poet, author and philosopher, John O’Donohue, wrote that “the greatest sin is the unlived life”. Reflection on Sunday’s Reading
‘We are his people, the sheep of his flock.’
St Paul writes to the Christians in Rome, teaching that their concerns should not, ultimately, be about what they are doing for God, but about what God has done, and is doing, for them. (Second Reading) That is also a sentiment echoed in this week’s Psalm – we, the sheep, are beneficiaries of a Good Shepherd who made us, who loves us, who is faithful to us, and to whom we belong.
St Matthew (Gospel) shows Jesus as the compassionate shepherd of his suffering people. Jesus is concerned not only with their spiritual and practical needs, but also about ensuring there are enough ‘labourers’ on the ground to reach every ‘lost sheep.’
This week, we might ponder: are there tempting alternatives getting in the way of my relationship with the Lord? What has God done for me …. is God doing for me … will God do for me? How is my relationship with the Good Shepherd, to whom I belong? In what ways am I able to work alongside Christ in today’s world?
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place from 11am-3pm, Tuesday to Friday.
Service of the Healing of the Generations

- Calling Everyone in Our Community – Judging has started in the Dublin City Council Neighbourhood Competition – so its urgent that we all do our bit! We are asking each household to give 10/15 minutes a day to remove rubbish and tidy their environment. (Garden grass and hedge clippings must go in the brown bin}.

Prayer for Students doing Exams
Lord, pour out your Spirit of Wisdom on these students: help them to remain calm, to attend carefully to the questions asked, to think clearly, to remember accurately, and to express themselves well. Grant that they may reflect on the best of the work they have done and the best of the teaching they have received. Accept their best efforts in these examinations and in the great test of life on earth. May your love be upon them, O Lord, as they place all their trust in you. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
