Pilgrim God, we give you thanks and praise. You constantly journey with us even in our darkness and doubts. We seek your way of loving kindness to walk together as one family.
Open our eyes to recognise you in the faces of one another, in the breaking of bread and in the splendour of creation. May the risen Christ sow seeds of hope and new life deep within us. May our hearts and minds be filled with your Word, bringing forth truth, justice and peace. Service of Healing of the Generations (Family Tree) |
A Service of Healing of the Generations takes place this Sunday, 30th October, in our Church commencing at 7pm with Mass and concludes at 8pm. It will be led by Fr Cathal Price and team.
Annual Mass for the Dead |
The Annual Mass to remember those who died during the year will take place next Saturday, 5th November, at 6pm. Letters were sent to the bereaved families, and we look forward to meeting them then. All welcome.

Work Has Commenced
We are delighted to inform you that work has commenced on the projects our Church needed addressing.
The guttering around the church is being replaced along with some of the facias. Later on, it will be completed with finishing paint work. The roof then will also be cleaned.
This work could not have commenced without your valuable financial support.
Reflection on Readings for this Sunday
The readings for this Sunday celebrate God’s boundless love for each and every one of us. No matter how far we go astray, God continues to seek us out and welcome us back. In the Second Reading, St Paul tells us it is through our lives that God’s name will be glorified. In the Gospel story as Jesus urged Zacchaeus down from the tree, so he calls each one of us. All we need do is seek his presence, acknowledge our faults and failings, and welcome him into our lives. As we continue to pray for an end to hostilities throughout the world, we ask that the Lord help us to hear and respond to his invitation and welcome him joyfully into our lives.
Prayer for Ukraine
Holy and Gracious God. We pray for the people of Ukraine and the people of Russia, for their countries and their leaders. We pray for all those who are afraid; that your everlasting arms hold them in this time of great fear. We pray for all those who have the power over life and death; that they will choose for all people life, and life in all its fullness. We pray for those who choose war; that they will remember that you direct your people to turn our swords into ploughshares and seek for peace. We pray for leaders on the world stage; that they may be inspired by the wisdom and courage of Christ. Above all, Lord, today we pray for peace for Ukraine. And we ask this in the name of your blessed Son. Lord, have mercy. Amen.
Mass for Deceased Members of Ladies Club
A Mass will be celebrated next Wednesday 2nd November in Scoil Eoin at 8.15pm for deceased members and for deceased relatives of members. All are welcome to attend.
Active Retirement Group
There are a number of events coming up shortly –
- Next Friday 4th November Whist Drive in aid of the local St Vincent de Paul group. Funds badly needed in these
- difficult times. Entry €5. Raffle. Donations of raffle prizes appreciated. No previous experience needed. Great fun night with refreshments supplied. Practice 6.30pm.
- Mass for deceased members will be celebrated on 9th November at 3pm in Centre.
- Bookings being taken now for the Christmas Party on Friday 25th November at 7pm – Members €17, non-members €22. Contact Ann 086 393 8465.
Invitation for Cuppa in our Parish Centre
Every Wednesday morning, we have a ‘cuppa’ and chat from 10.30am. Volunteers needed to ‘put the kettle on’ etc. – rota system is in place. Call Finola to 087 292 5116.
Eucharistic Adoration
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place from 11am-3pm from Tuesday to Friday each week.

- Share Appeal Sunday on 12th/13th November highlights the important work funded by the weekly collection.
- Rememberingconcert at 3pm Sunday, 6th November, in the Pro-Cathedral, to remember all who died since 2019. Choirs will sing Fauré’s Requiem, Handel’s Funeral Anthem etc. Tickets €20 from the Parish Office or Eventbrite.

Energy Crisis
We are all aware of the current situation regarding the rising costs of energy and this will affect our Church buildings as well as homes. We ask that all those attending the Church at any time from now on, would make sure that warm clothes are worn. We will endeavour to keep our Church and Centre as comfortable as possible but will also be forced to ‘watch’ the heating and lighting costs in the Church and in the Parish Centre.

15 Reminders on The Part of the Elders
- Rise with the sunrise to pray. Pray on your own.
- Be tolerant of those who have erred. Ignorance, insecurities, anger, jealousy, and greed come from the lost soul. Pray for them that they may find guidance.
- Find yourself by your own means. Don’t allow others to determine your path for you. It is your journey and yours only. Others may walk with you, but no one can walk your path for you.
- Treat guests in your home with great courtesy. Offer them the best food, give them the best bed, and treat them with respect and dignity.
- Don’t take what’s not yours, whether from a person, a community, a jungle, a culture. It wasn’t gifted or won. It’s not yours.
- Respect all things on this earth, people, plants and animals.
- Respect the thoughts, wishes and words of all people. Never break them, ridicule them, or imitate them rudely. Give all people the right to personal expression.
- Never talk bad about others. The negative energy you put out into the Universe will multiply when it returns to you.
- All people make mistakes. And all mistakes can be forgiven.
- Negative thoughts cause disease to the mind, body and spirit. Exercise your optimism.
- Nature is not on our side. it is just our PART. Part of your family in the world.
- Children are the seeds of our future. Plant love in your heart and water them with wisdom and life lessons. When they grow up just give them space to grow.
- Avoid hurting other people’s hearts. The venom of their suffering will return to you.
- Always be true (and transparent). Honesty is the test of man in this Universe.
- Hold a balance. Your Mental Personality, Spiritual Personality, Emotional Personality and Physical Personality: all need to be strong, clean and healthy. “
